Sculpture is about the medium for me: the joy of working with earthenware clay, plaster or metal. I love material exploration and pushing it to the limit. I generally start with the process that I want and engineer meaning as I build. I’ve spent most of the last 40 years building, whether it is a deck, concrete countertop, installing oak floors, making furniture or installing a glass block window. Changing my garden and home has meant that I have been able to try new materials and, best of all, acquire new tools.
